Keeping tradition for different diets

One of the things to really keep in mind when holiday entertaining is your guests’ different dietary needs and preferences. This time of year, we love tradition, but we want to make sure we’re considering and including everyone as we plan what we’ll serve. One example is eggnog. It’s always a staple of the season, but not something that everyone can have, depending on their diet. Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog is a dairy-free version of that favorite holiday treat. This has the same rich and creamy taste of traditional eggnog with a subtle nutty twist. What’s great is that it’s lactose-free, gluten-free and soy-free. Plus, it’s a lighter treat, at just 70 calories per serving. You can find Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog at grocery stores nationwide, or check out their product locator to find it near you.

What about a festive mocktail option for holiday entertaining?

The same can be said for alcohol preferences. Mocktails have become super popular and an option a lot of hosts may want to have this holiday. One idea is using seasonal flavors like cranberry, orange and pomegranate. I made a Cranberry Pomegranate Mocktail using a special secret ingredient that gives a HUGE health boost. To start the drink, I used a scoop of Nested Naturals Heart Superfood Tonic, which is a delicious heart health drink mix. It’s powered by organic, fermented beets, Reishi and Oyster mushrooms and antioxidant-rich fruit extracts. This powerhouse blend supports heart health, nurtures healthy aging, boosts nitric oxide production, and has zero added sugars. It’s also organic, non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free. I combined it with cranberry, pomegranate and orange juices along with some club soda to make a refreshing seasonal sip option that’s as pretty as it is delicious.

Easy shortcut for a salad that wows

Everyone LOVES a shortcut and POM Pomegranate Fresh Arils are a great one. These are such a delicious addition to elevate holiday recipes because they add a brilliant ruby red pop of color and a unique burst of flavor. The POM Arils ready to serve packagers make it super easy, whether you’re topping a salad or having a snack. I made a POM Brussels Sprout Salad, and it’s the perfect side salad for a festive holiday spread. POM Arils come from fresh pomegranates and are a good source of fiber, plus they’re known for their antioxidant goodness. You can pick them up in the produce section through January.

Desserts that double as favors

When it’s time for treats, I love something that can double as either dessert or a take-home favor. You really can’t go wrong with gourmet popcorn. Sweet Chaos popcorn is out with their winter seasonal drizzled flavor selection and it’s not only delicious, it’s also non-GMO, gluten-free and has no artificial flavors or colors. You have the Peppermint Crunch, Iced Gingerbread and Black and White Sugar Cookie to choose from and they’re all so pretty to serve on a platter, in little individual cups or even clear baggies tied with some ribbon.
