I love entertaining any time of year, but fall entertaining tends to be my favorite. I shared some easy tips and store-bought shortcuts on Good Day PA that will help make any fall gathering a hit.

Seasonal flavors are your friend for fall entertaining
Fall flavors are truly so warm and inviting. Using seasonal flavors and aromas is ideal for making any fall entertaining memorable. For the fall, obvious flavor favorites like pumpkin spice and apple are must-haves, but there are some other great options to work into any spread that will feel give that same cozy autumnal feel. I recently discovered Sweet Chaos popcorn and I am in love with their fall drizzled flavor selection because it’s not only delicious- it’s also non-GMO, gluten-free and has no artificial flavors or colors. What’s even better is what a pretty presentation this popcorn makes! The Black + Orange or Candy Corn drizzles are super cute for Halloween and the Pumpkin Spice, Vanilla Chai or Maple Brown Sugar flavors are perfect to carry you into Thanksgiving as well. I love incorporating this popcorn in a snack board or charcuterie spread, or serving them in little individual cups for an easy grab + go dessert.
Store-bought shortcuts are always a fall entertaining win
You’d be really surprised how far a few candy googly-eyes can take you. From hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll strips to resemble mummies, to chocolate cookie bats, the options are endless for a little spooky fun. Likewise, a store-bought seasonal cookie (our favorites are Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf Cookies or Pumpkin Whoopie pies from Target) or themed candies are an effortless way to play up a fall theme- I love to use little gummy spooky candies on little toothpicks as a cute drink garnish. I love to use supermarket shortcuts like this to keep fall entertaining simple and as easy as these additions are, kids and adults alike always get a kick out of them.
Let’s talk tablescapes
Warm plaids, rustic burlap, little hay bales and textured chargers all add a little something special to your tabletop decor. Textures and patterns are a must to work into fall entertaining because they reinforce the feel we want when we’re gathering together this time of year: coziness. I really believe there are no rules with playing with patterns and textures for the fall because they’re easy to layer if you stick to warm neutrals and orange/rust hues. Have fun with this part and try new things because, hey, why not?! I always include some hand wipes right next to where I’m serving my food, especially when little kids are in the mix. Our favorites are Handzies Soap + Water Wipes because they’re made with just water, natural castile soap and essential oils- that’s it. They’re also individually wrapped, making them perfect to have on hand for your guests to get a true soap and water clean even if you’re entertaining outdoors.
